Afternoon Picnic in the Huacachina Dunes
from US$ 181.89 per person
At 4:00 p.m. you leave our office in Huacachina in a private, factory-built Polaris or Can-Am dune buggy. You spend about 50 minutes in the dunes, with three stops to sandboard and take photos of the Ica desert.
Then you reach base camp: a bell tent with a rug, flowers, lamps, big cushions, chairs and a table set with seasonal fruit, cheese, ham, plantain chips, chocotejas and semi-dry sparkling wine (with juice and sugar-free soda for non-drinkers). You stay there for the rest of the afternoon and ride back in the same buggy around 6:10 p.m. It suits couples and friends. Wear light clothes, sunglasses and sunscreen; sand gets everywhere, so sneakers beat sandals.
