Frequentlyasked questions

What travelers ask us most before their trip. If your question is not here, message us on WhatsApp.

Planning your trip

When is the best time to visit Peru?

It depends on the region. In the Andes (Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu) the dry season runs from May to September, with sunny days and cold nights; December to March is wetter. The southern coast (Paracas, Ica, Huacachina and Nasca) is dry all year, with summer from December to March.

How far ahead should I book Machu Picchu?

As early as you can. Tickets have a daily cap and a fixed time slot, and in high season they sell out weeks ahead. Once we have your dates we book the ticket, circuit, train and shuttle bus.

How many days do I need in Peru?

For Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu at an easy pace, 5 to 7 days. Add 3 or 4 more if you want the southern coast (Paracas, Huacachina and Nasca). We shape the route around the time you have.

Can I combine Paracas, Huacachina and Nasca in one trip?

Yes, it is a classic southern-coast route. Paracas and Ica (home to Huacachina) are close to each other, and Nasca lies further south along the Pan-American Highway. Ideally you spend at least one night in each area.

Health and packing

How do I avoid altitude sickness in Cusco?

Cusco sits at 3,399 m (11,152 ft). It helps to start in the lower Sacred Valley, take the first day slowly, drink plenty of water, eat light and skip alcohol on arrival. If you have a health condition, check with your doctor before travelling.

What should I pack?

Layers, since the Andes are cold at night and warm at midday; a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and comfortable shoes. Bring your passport: it is required to enter Machu Picchu and to board the train.

Do I need a visa for Peru?

It depends on your nationality. Many countries do not need a visa for tourism, but confirm the current requirements with the Peruvian consulate before buying flights.

Tours and booking

How do I book a tour or a trip?

Pick a tour or use "Create your trip" and send us your request on WhatsApp. An advisor confirms availability and the final rate for your dates and walks you through booking.

Are the prices on the website final?

They are reference prices per person ("from"). The final price depends on the date, the number of travelers and the hotel or service level you choose, and we confirm it before you book.

Are the tours private?

The trips we design for you are private. Some day tours in the catalog use shared transport or boats; each tour page states the type of service and what is included.

Is the Huacachina dune buggy ride safe?

We use factory-built UTVs with a factory-fitted roll cage, seat belts and trained drivers. The minimum age and the recommendations for each departure are on the tour page.

Do you offer service in English?

Yes. We work in Spanish and English, and most tours have guides in both languages; each tour lists the languages available.
