From the Nasca airfield you take off in a shared small plane for a flight of about 35 minutes over the desert plain. Before boarding you get a safety briefing. In the air, the pilot tilts the plane to one side and then the other over each figure so everyone can see it from their window: the astronaut, the monkey, the hummingbird, the spider and several more.
After landing you receive a flight certificate. Those tight turns make some people queasy, so eat a light breakfast and look at the horizon between figures. Only a small bag or your camera is allowed on board, and the flight depends on the weather, so leave some slack in your day.
