Cusco City Tour: Qoricancha, Sacsayhuamán and Tambomachay
from US$ 25 per person
You start in Cusco's Main Square, facing the Cathedral and the Church of the Company of Jesus, then continue to Qoricancha, where Inca walls hold up a colonial convent. It shows at a glance how one city was built on top of another.
From there the group rides up to the hills above Cusco: Sacsayhuamán with its fitted stones laid without mortar, the rock-carved passages of Qenqo, the Puka Pukara checkpoint and the water channels of Tambomachay.
It works well as a first day in the city, at an easy pace while you adjust to Cusco's altitude. Bring a light jacket, sunscreen and some cash in soles for entrance fees that are not included.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Cusco city tour include hotel pickup?
Yes. You are picked up at your hotel, and transfers between the archaeological sites are by tourist vehicle.
Are the entrance fees to the sites included?
No. The General Tourist Ticket (which covers Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay), the Qoricancha entrance and the Cathedral entrance are paid separately, so carry some cash in soles. Lunch and tips are not included either.
Is this a private or shared tour?
It is a shared service, with groups of up to 15 people and a guide who speaks English and Spanish.
Can children join?
Yes, there is no minimum age. The route mixes vehicle transfers with short walks, so it is manageable for families.
What should I bring?
Layers, comfortable shoes, sunscreen and a water bottle. The sun in Cusco is strong and the temperature shifts quickly between shade and sun.
